Would seeing the calorie content of various menu items at your favorite restaurant change the way you order? Sure, we know that brownies aren't very good for us and that they are high cal, but we often underestimate the amount of fat and calories in an item. Did you know that the brownie dessert at Fridays is 1500 calories? Some people only need that many calories for an entire day! Restaurants and fast-food joints in NYC are now forced to display caloric information on all menus, and they won't be allowed to use itty-bitty font either.
I'm sure discovering the true nutritional value (or lack thereof) of some of my favorite items would cause mild shock. Still, I am leaning towards hoping that Philadelphia passes similar legislation.
