Giving to Caesar

It's the same story every year. The calendar speeds along toward April 15th and I put off tax preparation for as long as I can. Uncle Sam and I are playing a game of chicken. Thankfully I lose the game each year, since winning would mean I am a lazy deviant. This is the latest I have ever waited and I am relieved I was still able to secure an appointment on a day and time that works well with my schedule.

That's right, I don't do my own taxes. Almost all of my friends, with careers ranging from engineering to film to domestic divas, do their own taxes. I on the otherhand, armed with my business degree and a career in financial analysis, will be shelling out my monies for someone else to flip through my very basic W2 and fill in the necessary boxes.

Don't judge. Taxes are scary! And I feel an extra measure of comfort knowing I can blame any potential mistake on someone else.

Off to give Caesar his dues!

lol. i find it amusing that a financial analyst has someone else do her taxes. i've muddled my way through turbo tax for the last couple of years because i'm way too cheap to shell out the extra few bucks to make sure they're done right. and with undeclared income from my jewelry business, i'm just waiting to find out i've done something horribly wrong. here's hoping i'm never audited...

Sheri - if you ever need a tax guy, let me know. My tax preparer this year was really good.
