Sara from Mali

Recently, a conversation took place between me, an immigrant from Mali, a gentleman in his early forties, and a single mom. The lady from Mali is practicing her English with us and we told her to ask us questions. She immediately asks the man if he has a wife or children. He has neither. She begins to grill him.

“Why? What are you waiting for? Are you looking for the perfect woman? You will not find her. She doesn’t exist. You are not the perfect man.”

I love the bluntness of ethnic people, especially when it is directed at others and I can just sit back and giggle. The English may have been broken, but she got her point across.

I know some other people she should talk to…
