On the first Thursday of each month, the National Constitution Center has $5 admission after 5pm. It includes a guided tour, the theater show, and special monthly programming.

Free Concerts during Lunch
Lunchtime habits of coworkers always confuse me. So many complain about being chained to their cube, but then they choose to spend their lunch break right at their desk. I always feel like I’m being naughty for actually taking my break and choosing to take it outside. I wouldn’t encourage you to buy your lunch each day, but take advantage of the 30 minutes – 1 hour to go for a walk, run errands, or eat in a park. Give your eyes a break and people-watch instead glaring at the computer screen or your bland cubicle/office walls.
Need more motivation to leave your chair? For those that work in Philadelphia, the noontime concert series is back! Wednesdays this summer grab your lunch and coworkers and spend your break outside catching a variety of musical acts at several different locations. I can’t promise the music will actually be good, but it will be free and more pleasant than the dull hum of the air vent above your workspace.

Free Summer Fun
The Mann Center in Fairmount Park runs a series of concerts every summer and they offer lawn tickets for free. They are offering everything from Mozart to music from Star Wars and even a fireworks display one night. You’ll get to hear first-rate musicians and feel relaxed because it didn’t cost you anything. =)
Tickets are available starting today. You can book as many shows as you want.
So grab a friend, date, kid, neighbor and I'll see you on the lawn!

NSC
Do you speak English? Gather your friends and do the below together.
• The NSC seeks to eliminate the barriers caused by language and cultural difference and promotes the assets that these differences provide for our community. As a part of the NSC, Project Welcome helps newly arrived immigrants and refugees improve their spoken English through ESL classes and conversation partners.
• Every month, there are a couple of Wednesday and Thursday evenings where they need conversation partners for their students between 7 pm and 8 pm. This opportunity is well-suited for a group because they can usually accommodate 10 to 20 volunteers at once. Volunteers split into various classrooms and work one-on-one or in small groups to practice conversational English.
• To volunteer, email Katerina Montaniel or call her at 267-968-7987 to let them know that you’d like to volunteer. They meet at 12th and Arch Streets in Center City, near Chinatown.

Macy's Flower Show
If you're looking to catch a free performance on Sunday April 5th, Macy's has you covered. To kick off their flower show, they have invited Irish Dance Teams from the Irish World Dancing Championships to perform at 11am. If music is more your thing, swing by around 1pm. That is when the Ugandan ensemble, Kinobe & Soul Beat Africa, take center stage in the Grand Court. If you have kids, they will have activities catered for them at 2pm on the 3rd floor.

Scrapplefest
Scrapple was never a staple for breakfast in my family. I seriously had never even tasted it before my 20's. Anyway, Philadelphia has decided to celebrate this "meat". Head on over to the Reading Terminal on March 21st to eat it, watch it be made into sculptures, and listen to live music. You may even figure out what exactly goes into scrapple, but maybe that is better left unknown.

Two For Tea and Soap
On March 14, 1-3pm, duross and langel is holding a Mad Hatter's Tea Party and everyone over the age of seven is invited. Attendees will enjoy a tasting of the various teas and flavors that have inspired their soap masters.
The open house runs a full two hours, with each tea and corresponding soap demonstration lasting approximately a half-hour. Four half-hours, four teas, four soaps.
